Fisker creates “Fisker Finance” with JPMorgan Chase and Santander
Fisker has announced that through its mobile app, customers will soon be able to finance their vehicle through a partnership with JPMorgan Chase Bank in the United States or Santander Bank in Europe.
Shortly after announcing that the brand would allow early bird holders to place a $5,000 deposit on the Ocean Launch Edition, the brand announced its funding program; “Fisker Finance”. This program will allow those who have downloaded the Fisker app to their mobile device to request and receive personalized financing offers for their new Ocean.
Fisker clarified that while JPMorgan Chase and Santander are the only options available at the start of Fisker Finance, other banks and regions will be named soon. In addition to finance, the app will also be updated to allow customers to make other purchases. Customers will be able to purchase insurance, choose and pay for factory options to put on their Fisker Ocean or purchase external vehicle accessories such as charging cables.
Currently, the Fisker app is relatively simple. The app has only 5 sections; a Fisker news feed, a configurator, a booking page, a Fisker Ocean photo gallery and a profile page where users can log into their Fisker account.
Fisker’s Finance announcement didn’t say how it would differ from other automaker apps. Toyota’s app currently allows users to subscribe to services that allow them to access different features of their vehicle. Ford’s app allows users to see nearby dealerships and change their car settings. Tesla’s app allows users to make mobile repair requests and more. It remains to be seen how Fisker will define itself in such a competitive space.
