Take a peek into the history of Roanoke College with a new virtual tour

If you walk around the Roanoke College campus, you will see breathtaking beauty and a vibrant campus community.

You might walk right past the 40 fruit tree without realizing that it contains 40 different types of fruit. You might miss the indentation in the floor of the Front Quad where clay was excavated to make the bricks for our early buildings. You may not see the bronze artwork made by Salvador Dali.

On our new historical and cultural virtual tour, you will see these gems. Our experts will walk you through an in-depth review of the many artifacts and works of art we have to offer.

“This is not a normal tour. There are some really unusual parts, ”said Michael C. Maxey, president of Roanoke College. “… Part of what makes it fun and fascinating is that there are so many different things that are included.”

Access, an advertising and public relations firm in Roanoke, led the design and development of the virtual site with video resources and content creation in conjunction with a wide range of subject matter experts from Roanoke College. In addition to being a long-time Roanoke College partner, the Access team includes three Roanoke College alumni who contributed to the project (Rachel Spencer ’04, Robyn Lewis ’16 and Lucas Weaver ’20) and a former member Roanoke College staff (Chris Henson).
