ABERDEEN, Mississippi – Hundreds of fine Southern antiques and adornments from four Mississippi estates – two in Columbus, one in Tupelo, and one in Southaven – will be auctioned off at a mid- was scheduled for Saturday 25 September at 10 a.m. am Central time, by Stevens Auction Company, live in the Aberdeen Gallery and online via LiveAuctioneers.com.

The sale includes 441 lots, many of which are fine furniture from renowned 19th century American manufacturers such as Mitchell & Rammelsberg, Thomas Brooks and Alexander Roux. But there are also wonderful decorative accessories, like a set of seven Moser wine glasses (estimate: $ 500 – $ 1,500) and a lovely golden Victorian fireplace mirror (estimate: $ 800 – $ 1,500).

In the furniture category, a gorgeous carved mahogany canopy plantation bed with flamed finials and a heavily sculpted headboard, 93 inches high, 62 inches wide and 75 inches long, has a pre-sale estimate. from $ 2,500 to $ 5,000. In addition, a three-back rosewood sofa attributed to Alexander Roux, heavily sculpted and quite handsome, 78 inches wide, is expected to sell for between $ 1,000 and $ 2,000.

A Tennessee sugar chest with a divider and bottom drawer and Sheraton revolving legs, 29 inches high by 43 inches wide and taken from a Tennessee house, is expected to fetch $ 2,500 to $ 4,000; while a Victorian walnut oval center table by Thomas Brooks, with white marble, 37 inches long by 29 inches in diameter, would be a nice addition to any home (estimate: $ 1,200 to $ 2,000 ).

A George III style blackened mahogany triple rocket musical stand clock with eight nestev bells, mounted in gilded bronze, is expected to fetch $ 2,500 to $ 3,500. Additionally, a set of 80 Gorhan Chantilly sterling silver place settings should cost $ 2,000 to $ 3,500; and a hand-painted Limoges porcelain punch bowl with five cups, grapes and flowers, signed Austria, is expected to end between $ 600 and $ 1,000.

Two ornate cast iron garden benches, both in white, the size of a loveseat with a rounded Gothic back, will be offered in separate lots (each estimated between $ 1,000 and $ 2,000). Additionally, a pastel painting of a lady in a gilded wood frame, with a royal seal and a French signature, has an estimate of $ 500 to $ 900.

A Victorian walnut desk with a fitted interior and sculpted male and female heads, measuring 50 inches high by 56 inches wide, should cost between $ 1,200 and $ 2,000; a Victorian Rococo walnut desk with carved gallery, 65 inches high, has an estimate of $ 1,000 to $ 2,000; and a Wooten S solid oak desk on casters, signed, with a Rotary patent, is expected to fetch $ 2,500 to $ 4,000.

Looking for a buffet? An Empire Revival mahogany sideboard with arched front doors, a carved acanthus column, claw feet and a bevelled mirror backsplash, measuring 66 inches high and 72 inches long, is expected to fetch between $ 1,200 and $ 2,000. Also, a mahogany sideboard with exaggerated column ends, four drawers and two doors, measuring 45 inches high by 77 inches wide, is expected to fetch $ 500 to $ 1,000.

Or maybe a secretary is on your wishlist. A slanted front desk in flamed mahogany, Empire period, with all beaded trim in place, in great condition, 98 inches high by 46 inches wide, should fetch $ 1,500 to $ 2,500. Also, a slanted front first secretary with a dove tail, support legs, and original handles, measuring 42 inches high by 39 inches wide, is expected to cost between $ 600 and $ 1,200.

A Victorian rosewood shelf with a bonnet crown and white marble top, measuring 8 feet 3 inches high by 58 inches wide, carries a pre-sale estimate of $ 2,500 to $ 3,500. Also, an old Empire flamed mahogany chest with column front, turned legs and backsplash should cost between $ 700 and $ 1,500.

A Tennessee cherry pie safe with a peg construction, two drawers and two doors, measuring 49 inches high by 43 inches wide, should change hands for $ 1,000 to $ 3,000; and a large (80 inch) quarter-sawn oak china cabinet with an arched front, leaded glass doors, curved glass ends, a solid column front, carved crown, and claw feet, should ring. Many other pieces of furniture will also be sold.
