ABERDEEN, Mississippi – Enthusiastic bidders will give thanks at Stevens Auction’s Thanksgiving Antiques Auction on Saturday, November 13, live in the gallery at 609 North Meridian Street in Aberdeen and online via LiveAuctioneers.com. Items offered will be items from a 9,000 square foot home in Gulf Port, Mississippi, as well as estates in Eutaw, Ala., And Centerville, Mississippi.

The best expected lots include a heavily carved oak dining room attributed to famous 19th century American furniture maker RJ Horner, a magnificent palace-sized Aubusson carpet that cost $ 40,000 when purchased new, and a magnificent pair of vases from old Paris from the beginning of the 19th century which was a museum ceded 50 years ago. The auction will begin promptly at 10 a.m. Central Time.

The Horner Dining Room is the headliner of the sale, with an estimate of $ 15,000 to $ 45,000. It consists of a china cabinet, five-leaf banquet table, six chairs, and a sideboard, all beautifully carved with winged griffins and legs. Horner also offers an oak china cabinet in the original finish, carved from top to bottom with a carved dragon and fruit crest, large protruding carved lions and fruit, and carved protruding bottlenose dolphins (estimate: $ 2,000 – $ 4,000).

The Aubusson rug is truly the size of a palace at 14 feet by 30 feet. It is expected to sell for between $ 10,000 and $ 20,000, or half of its original sale price. Other fine carpets in the running will include a beige, green and gold Oushak rug, 18 feet by 12 feet (estimate: $ 1,800 to $ 3,000); a handmade red, blue and white Persian rug, 9 feet 10 inches by 14 feet 2 inches (estimate: $ 600 to $ 1,500); and a large green and pink needlepoint, 13 feet 6 inches by 8 feet 11 inches (estimate: $ 600 to $ 1,200).

The pair of early 20th century Old Paris two-piece vases feature intricate detail, with top-to-bottom latticework and breathtaking painting with the highest gold content for all gilding. The vases, showing no wear, would fetch between $ 5,000 and $ 15,000. Also offered will be a large and impressive pair of 19th century Vienna Royal Urns in two parts with beautiful figurative paintings, ornate relief decorations and intense gold gilding, both 23 inches in height (estimate: $ 3,000 to $ 5,000).

Tables to consider include a unique Aesthetic Movement rosewood pedestal table with winged griffins and inlaid burl trim (estimate: $ 4,000 to $ 10,000); and a very large Victorian rosewood centerpiece attributed to Charles Boudoine, 46 inches wide (estimate: $ 2,000 – $ 4,000).

Beds will include a spectacular contemporary mahogany half-bed with curtains and a sculpted crown (estimate: $ 5,000 to $ 7,500); a six-room Lillian Russell birch suite by Davis Cabinet Company with twin beds, dresser, chest of drawers, nightstand and shaving mirror (estimate: $ 2,500 – $ 5,000); and a full-size rosewood grit test bed from Shamrock Plantation, attributed to Mitchell & Rammelsberg (a manufacturer often featured in Stevens sales) (estimate: $ 2,000 to $ 4,000).

A handsome rococo rosewood secretary that has been in the same place for 75 years from the Shamrock plantation, measuring 98 inches high by 47 inches wide, is expected to cost between $ 2,500 and $ 4,000. Additionally, an equally attractive period 1780 olive wood secretary with a fitted interior at the top, 7 feet 10 inches high by 42 inches wide, has a pre-sale estimate of $ 3,000 at $ 4,000.

The pedestals will include a figurative mahogany pedestal with marble top, 43 inches high (estimate: $ 3,000 to $ 6,000); a round solid mahogany pedestal with wing griffin top, 42 inches high (estimate: $ 1,500 to $ 3,000); and a walnut pedestal with three puttis, claw feet and grapes (estimate: $ 2,000 – $ 3,500).

The lamps and lighting category will include a Victorian brass and alabaster banquet lamp with a hand painted shade, possibly by Rembrandt (estimate: $ 1,000 to $ 3,000); a Victorian brass lamp by Bradley and Hubbard, flat oil with dragons, red globe and double burner (estimate: $ 1,000 – $ 3,000); and a Victorian pendant light with owls on the shade and font (estimate: $ 1,000 to $ 2,500).

Grandfather clocks will be on offer, including a 9-tube Tiffany grandfather clock in very good condition, in a classic mahogany case with 93-inch tall columns (estimate: $ 3,000 at $ 6,000); and a 90-inch tall Empire mahogany 9-tube grandfather clock (estimate: $ 1,500 to $ 2,500).

Looking for a banquet or a dining table? This sale will include an antique English mansion banquet dining table with original brass legs and casters, 11 feet 6 inches long (estimate: $ 3,000 to $ 6,000); a beautiful 19th century federal banquet table with ornate signed bronze legs and six leaves, in original case, 12 feet long (estimate: $ 3,000 – $ 5,000); and the solid birch federal banquet table ends with carved and turned legs, in very good condition, 76 inches long (estimate: $ 1,200 – $ 2,000).

A magnificent pair of 18th or 19th century carved doors, measuring 89 ½ inches high by 58 inches wide, has an estimate of $ 3,000 to $ 6,000); while an incredible large 19th century Rococo walnut five-section screen, all pierced with grapes and vines and previously in an heiress’s house, measuring 6 feet 5 inches high by 8 feet 1 inch wide, should change hands for $ 3,000 – $ 4,000.

Items for the garden will include an antique three-part marble and bronze fountain, with a carved double dolphin base, a large scalloped shell-shaped basin in marble, topped with a patinated bronze boy with a grape fountain, a total height of 44 inches (estimate: $ 3,000 – $ 5,000); two heavy white cast iron garden benches with leaf and vines design, sold in two lots (estimate: $ 1,000 to $ 2,000; and a pair of figurative cast iron planters, 38 inches high (estimate: $ 600 to $ 1,200).

Need something to house you (or cheer you up)? A large 12-inch tall silver and cut-glass wine container in the original silk-lined case, with Nomination to King, Elkington and Company badges, with hallmarks, is expected to end between $ 2,500 and $ 5,000; while a set of 20 Boulle encrusted gold-encrusted decanters and wines, probably Baccarat, is expected to sell for between $ 1,000 and $ 1,500.

Decorative accessories will include a three-piece Old Paris trim set, pink with gold and painted flowers (and a crack in the center bowl) (estimate: $ 1,000 – $ 3,000); a very rare quality square Victorian American chess table with beveled glass top and all chess pieces (estimate: $ 1,000 – $ 3,000); and a bronze of a dog and a rabbit, 19 inches long (estimate: $ 1,000 to $ 2,500).
